Sabbath Hill Press is an independent publisher devoted to the preservation, restoration, and critical presentation of historical works on witchcraft, demonology, and the occult. Focusing primarily on early modern and nineteenth-century non-fiction, the press produces carefully edited editions that respect original texts while improving legibility and accessibility for contemporary readers. Each volume is approached as a historical document—contextualized, annotated where appropriate, and presented with typographical and design restraint. Sabbath Hill Press is committed to treating these works not as curiosities, but as serious records of belief, fear, medicine, theology, and persecution at the margins of history.
Origins
Sabbath Hill Press was founded by Alistair Thorne in 2014 and began from a passion for uncovering forgotten voices in witchcraft and occult history. The press reformed in 2025 to bring its past limited edition titles back into print and digital.
We honor these texts as vital historical records.
Our Mission
Preserving and presenting historical texts on witchcraft with care and respect for their original context.
